DG Medien in Heidelberg is a provider of media services, who with their classic print and innovative online technologies are able to meet all their customers' demands.

Today DG Medien sees its greatest potential in Internet programming services combined with transfer of information into printed media of all types. In this very field, in co-operation with VIVA, DG Medien was able to raise considerably the value of its own Web CMS System with regard to performance and application.

The Project
The annual REHA (convalescent homes) catalog with over 1400 pages was the first challenge for DG Medien's own CMS System and the Viva Publishing Server. DG Medien placed great value on extremely fast page creation in this project. The task was to provide all convalescent homes in Germany with a web interface, so as to "decentralise" the complete collation of data and release of pages.

The speed of page creation in the VIVA solution was the crux. In less than 3 seconds the complete catalog page appears on the user's screen and can be released. The previously critical bottlenecks in time and personnel in the final production became a thing of the past after the rapid implementation of the project in less than 6 weeks.
