Phywe HQ in Göttingen

»Phywe«, with a turnover of 40 million Euro, is a market leader world-wide supplying teaching and learning systems for the sciences (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and technology.

Until now catalogue pages and price sections were created with traditional layout programs. This type of production is of course a lot of work and extremely time-consuming. In order to save costs, improve efficiency and produce their catalogs in a shorter time span, Phywe spent months comparing suitable systems.

In the end Phywe decided to take on the VIVA technology, which enables a very good performance due to the fact that the VIVA team has a wealth of experience in carrying out such projects.

The product management and catalog planning are carried out directly by the employees with the Enterprise Content Management System »VivaGate«. This product was originally developed by VIVA as an internal web publishing solution, and in the new version 2.0 offers a complex database system, with which publishing systems, product databases or catalog plannings may be created.

Phywe uses »VivaGate« with a normal Internet browser as a product, text and image database as well as a planning tool for all future catalogs. Through the link to the »VivaIP«-Server of the printer and service bureau Meister Druck in Kassel, the Phywe employees can, using the Internet, produce single catalog pages, whole sections or complete catalogs.
