Hardware & Software |
The customer who buys a VivaIP-Server receives a preconfigured complete system:
The Hardware consists of a named high-performance server, which is supplied as a desktop unit. Rackable computers can be supplied for an additional price on request. all the computers have a 100 MBit Ethernet Interface.
The Software consists of the operating system as well as the corresponding applications and modules. »Windows XP« is used as the operating system. Other Windows systems can be installed on request, however the Adobe »TypeManager« will be needed for better display of screen fonts. VivaIP also needs the »QuickTime« library as well as the Sentinel Dongle Software.
When VivaIP services with a browser in the Internet or Intranet, you need a web server, a Script system and possibly a database. Therefore the VivaIP Systems include the »Apache« Web server, the Script system »PHP« and the database »MySQL« which are preinstalled.
| VivaIP itself consists of VivaPress® for Windows, and the relevant additional modules (AddIns). VivaPress® for Windows is supplied as a DLL, the components (VivaChart-Server, VivaPDF-Server) as AddIns in Viva's own format. |
| Fonts |
| VivaIP assumes, that the fonts needed for the production are correctly installed on the server. VivaIP supports TrueType and PostScript fonts, whereby Viva recommends primarily using PostScript fonts. |
| Data Flow |
| The Workflow chart describes the data requirements and the data flow. Detailed information on the VivaIP Workflow can be found in the data sheet »VivaIP & Technique«. The paths of the entry data to be processed by VivaIP on the server will be configured by the system administrator. |
| Data Storage |
| Since VivaIP allows different paths to be defined for different types of data, it is not necessary for the required entry data to be stored on the server. The data required can be spread out through the entire network of your company. For this reason an optimum security against illegal acess is achieved. Additionally, this technique reduces possible data transfers and prevents redundant data storage. |
| Data Security |
| The integration of the VivaIP Server and its linking to existing Firewall systems is the responsibility of the system administrator. |
| Access Rights and Users |
| The operating system is not configured for specified users and groups in the standard installation, since the VivaIP server assumes that the system providing the data controls and manages the corresponding access rights and users. If the VivaIP server is to perform this task, it must be so configured by the system administrator. |
