| What's so special about VivaPosterize? |
The special feature of VivaPosterize® is its simplicity and speed on the one hand and the complex possibilities for automation on the other. VivaPosterize® was developed by printers and users who for years have been fighting with the problems of digital imposition/tiling and the difficulties they had with existing programs. |
| Where does the simplicity lie? |
The goal of the development was in one minute to be able to enter all preferences for the tiling of a document. The program should be able to recognize and display all problem cases. An unpracticed computer user should after a short training period be capable of imposing/tiling a document. All these requirements have been perfectly fulfilled by VivaPosterize®. |
| What does Viva understand by automation? |
The simpler a program is, the more complex are its internal processes. If for example the user changes to another printing machine, the program must be able to import all the marks relating to that machine into the spread without the user having to do anything. This is just one example of the many automatic functions in VivaPosterize®. |
| What kind of data can be used? |
Data from all programs and platforms can be imposed/tiled that are available in EPS, TIFF, JPEG or PDF format. |
| How do I process PostScript files? |
PostScript files are converted to EPS files with a conversion program. This process can be fully automated so that no extra work or waiting need occur. |
| Why should I use EPS files? |
In order to meet the huge demands of our customers with regard to speed and security, we decided to use the EPS format. |
| How do I process PDF files? |
With the help of Adobe® Acrobat®, files are converted internally to EPS files. This process is necessary, since no RIP can interpret PDF files (the files are converted into PS in the RIP), and PDF and PS files cannot be mixed. The assistance of Acrobat offers advantages from the point of view of compatibility with the Adobe Standard. |
| Which versions of the program are available? |
VivaPosterize® is available as a "stand-alone" program, and as an AddIn for our layout program VivaPress Professional. Further information on the program versions here. |
| What kind of color control do I have? |
You have full control over all the colors in the imposed/tiled document. The program displays which colors are used and whether they are process or spot colors. |
| Why are there no PostScript errors? |
If you impose/tile data with VivaPosterize® that have been produced with a PostScript Interpreter such as Adobe Exchange®, the probability is that PostScript errors will hardly appear at all at the imaging stage, since the data has already been checked for errors by this function. On the contrary, it means that PostScript errors will be found long before you start on the electronic typesetting. This saves a lot of time and aggravation. |
| For whom is VivaPosterize suited? |
VivaPosterize® is just as suitable for large offset and screen printers as for small printing companies who wish to impose/tile smaller posters. Due to its format independence and flexibility VivaPosterize® is a universal tool for the output of large format products. |
| Is there a Windows Version? |
At present VivaPosterize® works on the basis of MacOS and processes data from all platforms. Since the Macintosh can be built into all types of network without any problems and would only be needed for imposition/tiling and printing, we feel that a Windows version is at the moment not really necessary. Despite this we have begun development work on a Windows version. |
| How is VivaPosterize integrated into my workflow? |
For VivaPosterize® the origins of the data and where they are to be printed are irrelevant. It doesn't matter whether you have a Dalim, Fuji or any other system for data preparation, VivaPosterize® imports all files. The same goes for output on all systems (e.g. Adobe, Agfa, Fuji, Harlequin, Heidelberg, Linotype, Scitex, etc.) and RIPs that are level 2 compatible. VivaPosterize can therefore be integrated into every workflow. |
